Karl the Beanie
Karl the Beanie is worked from the bottom up. Italian cast on is used in order to create a nice cast on edge, starting with two rows of double knitting, worked flat, back and forth. After these two rows, the beanie is worked in the round.
You can choose between a lower or higher folded brim.
Size: approx. 1 year (2-3 year) 4-8 year (S) M (L)
Measurements: Fits a head circumference of 46-48 (49-51) 52-53 (54-55) 56-58 (59-62) cm
Gauge: 36 stitches x 32 rows in rib worked through the back loop on 2.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm
Suggested needles: Circular needles 2.5 mm 40 cm, Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) 2.5 mm
To make the Italian cast on easier, you can, if you prefer, use a straight needle (Jumper needle) 2.5 mm
Yarn: 100 g Isager Alpaca 2, all sizes except size L that has a higher folded edge, for size L you need 150 g. Worked in double strands
I the first picture, the beanies are knitted in the color E4s. In the last picture, the beanie is knitted in the color E7s
The little cutie is 1,5 years old and have size 2-3 years
